Scholarship Request - Conference Eligibility Requirements

The following is the procedure that you are required to follow if you wish to attend a conference related to your specialization:

  1. Provide us with a letter from your program director recommending your participation in the conference/ course.  If you intend to take a course or attend a conference in another country, you are required to obtain advance approval from the Civil Service Commission through this office.
  2. Purchase your airline tickets in advance to avoid full fare charges.  If you present a full fare airline ticket to this office for reimbursement you are required to submit a letter from the university confirming that you did not have sufficient time to make the necessary travel arrangements ahead of time.
  3. Submit the original copy of the conference/course fee receipts, as well as the airline ticket stubs to this office for reimbursement.  Ticket invoices are not accepted.
  4. Fax and Xerox copies are not acceptable.
  5. Room and board charges are not reimbursable items.
  6. Please be advised that due to accounting policies we can only reimburse you for your registration and travel costs after you have attended the conference.

Should you require additional information regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to call your academic advisor.
